MASSAGE

MASSAGE

Bill Simpson is a Certified Holistic Massage Health Practitioner. For over 13 years he has been studying and practicing many different types of massage & bodywork. These modalities include:

  • Holistic Healing Massage-A blend of several modalities of professional healing body massage, combined with energy balancing and clearing.  Bill blends your current individual healing needs with his 13 years of bodywork experience in massage-Swedish, Shiatsu, Tuina, Reflexology and Cranio-Sacral with QiGong healing and Chakra balancing, to provide you with a total healing experience.

  • Swedish Massage-Usually when one thinks of massage they are thinking of Swedish Massage. It refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones. Swedish Massage is relaxing and has therapeutic benefits as well. The client lies on a table with his/her clothes off under a sheet and blanket.  He/she is completely covered except for the areas that are being massaged to protect his/her modesty.  Oils and/or lotions are used on the skin.

  • Shiatsu-Also known as Acupressure, Shiatsu is a finger pressure massage technique founded on the Chinese meridian system used in Acupuncture. The practitioner applies pressure with his thumbs, fingers and palms to specific areas of the client’s body that help “unblock” the flow of Chi (vital energy) through the meridians. Shiatsu is traditionally performed on a futon on the floor. It can also be done on a massage table. The client is fully clothed (loose clothing is recommended).  No oils are used in Shiatsu.

  • Tuina-(pronounce Too We Nah) means “push pull” in Chinese.  It is amassage that uses Chinese Taoist and martial art principles to bring the body into balance.  It has been described as a combination of Shiatsu and Swedish Massage.  Various techniques are used including kneading, brushing, roliing or pressing as well as gentle joint and muscle manipulation.  Tuina is performed on a massage table and the client has the option of wearing clothes. Little to no oil is used.

  • QiGong-(pronounced Chee Kong) means "Energy Work/Art" in Chinese.  It is a mostly “hands-off” energy session similar to that of Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, etc.  QiGong is used to reduce stress and pain, boost the immune system, increase stamina and balance the emotions.  It is performed on a massage table or a chair and the client is fully clothed.

  • Reflexology-In reflexology the idea is that feet and hands mirror the body.  It is based on the Chinese meridian system. Pressure is applied to points on the feet and/or hands that correspond to individual parts of the body and helps to bring the body into balance. Reflexology is performed onmassage table and the client is fully clothed. After your session you will feel like you’re walking on air!

  • Pregnancy Massage-This is basically a Swedish Massage that is catered to the needs and contraindications for women in all stages of pregnancy. In many countries, prenatal massage is a part of the prenatal health protocol. Prenatal massage is performed on a massage table with the use of various pillows for support.  The client is unclothed and is covered at all times to protect her modesty. It is a relaxing and healing experience for the mother and her child.

  • Hot Rock-Hot Rocks are placed on various areas of the body to penetrate deep layers of muscle and connective tissue. The rocks are also used to massage the body with long flowing strokes. It is an amazing experience!

  • Cranio Sacral-The idea behind cranio scral massage is that when blockages occur in spinal fluid, an unbalance of the body happens, which can result in muscle and joint strain, emotional distress, and an imbalance of the function of the body’s organs and nervous system.  It is more of a gentle holding than a massage. Cranio Sacral Massage is performed on a massage table and the client is fully clothed. No oils are used. It is very relaxing, nurturing and healing.

  • Seated Chair Massage- The client "sits" face down and fully clothed on a "chair" that is specifically designed for massage. The main focus is on the back, neck and shoulders. Seated massage is sort of a mini-massage when time is and issue. It is often used in airports, shopping malls, trade shows and corporate settings. Seated Massage is usually charged by the minute.
